PRELIM TASK: Final Shot for Front Cover

This is my chosen photograph for my front cover of my magazine. This reflected my initial idea as I decided to use a medium close up. On my shot list I talked about using a backpack and my model holding books to create the school vibe and theme which will suit and compliment the design idea of my magazine. I chose this picture mainly because it is clear and the angle of gaze drags the readers in and that is what people expect in a magazine. The feature colour on my front colour was a dark fuchsia colour and it compliments the colour of my models lipstick too. The image is very vibrant and elegant as it draws the reader in with the expression on my models face and that is the attention I wanted. I really wanted the impression that my magazine was one welcoming magazine the public would pick up and the feedback I got was it was eye-catching and that they would definitely read through it. The photo overall was bright and captured attention as it was really focused. In my opinion, I think the whole process of the shoot was very successful and I have learnt a lot technical camera angle shots and skills to learn for the future.

PRELIM TASK: Model Consent Forms

Here it shows my models giving me consent to take a picture of them and publish it online, this proves I have used a model with permission.

PRELIM TASK: Shot List

This is my shot list for my college magazine and these helped me design and plan how my models for both pages will be positioned and where I plan to capture the image. There are pictures drawn to show the angle the model will be in and explanation at the bottom explaining the the props which will be used and the mise en scene.

PRELIM TASK: Flat Plan

Here is a flat plan for the front cover and contents page of my college magazine and these are a rough initial idea of what will contain in my front cover and contents page. For example my model wearing a backpack on my front cover and holding books, graphics, the mise en scene etc. I will be using a variety of fonts (around 2-3 fonts to keep it simple and effective). My contents page will contain my masthead from my front cover to make a link and will contain the same fonts within my front cover so it is all related. This will help me as a guide throughout the prelim task.
